Robin has over 35 years of experience with Daikin Applied with the past four years in Daikin Learning Institute. Robin holds a B.A. in business management from Augsburg College and a M.A. in human resource management from Concordia University – Saint Paul. Robin has in-depth knowledge and understanding of multiple generations of our products, providing solid leadership skills in the areas of business planning/execution, team management, project management and training development. Kim Benson

Kim is the Training Administrator for Sales Rep and Engineer Training. She joined Daikin Applied in 2013 with a background in customer service and planning. Kim has enjoyed learning about the HVAC industry and facilitating various training sessions. Kim holds a B.S. in retail merchandising from North Dakota State University.


Jeff Johnson
Graduate Engineer Training Instructor and Application Engineer

Jeff has been an Engineer Trainer with Daikin Learning Institute since 2014. He has over 30 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry and has been training for the past seven years. Jeff teaches Psychrometrics, Thermodynamics and many other classes with an intuitive, interactive, and hands-on approach. Jeff is also involved in textbook development.

Robert Hollembeak
Technical Service Training Instructor

Robert has 44 years of experience in commercial and industrial HVACR. His experience includes commissioning, servicing, analyzing and maintaining centrifugal, rotary screw, scroll and reciprocating chillers, air handling equipment, pumps, cooling towers, pneumatic and DDC controls systems He also reviews and composes service literature and procedures and provides remote on-site customer training and global technical support.

Awards and Certifications:

  • Certified Centrifugal, Rotary screw, Reciprocating, Scroll and MicroTech® chiller control instructor
  • Unlimited licensed HVAC & R contractor in GA & NC
  • ACCA registered Refrigerant Transition & Recovery Proctor

Steven Selgestad
Service Training Manager

Steve has been with Daikin Applied for 23 years as a remote factory service technician and Regional Trainer. He has a total 39 years of HVAC experience as technician, service manager and trainer. During his time with Daikin Applied, Steve has worked extensively training technicians in the field and in classroom settings. He has also developed software manuals for Daikin WMC products.

Awards and Certifications:

  • Certified instructor for Daikin Screw, Centrifugal, and WMC chillers
  • Associates Degree in HVAC and Bachelors of Science in Technology from University of South Dakota

Tony Blake
Technical Service Training Instructor

Tony has over 21 years of experience with Daikin Applied in various positions including HVAC service technician, Senior Technical Support Specialist in the Chiller Technical Response Center, Chiller Engineering Lab, and production associate.


Christy Jones
Technical Service Training Instructor

Christy has 25 years of experience with Daikin Applied in various positions including service technician, Regional trainer, remote instructor, and Southeast Regional Service Trainer. With 50 years of experience in the HVAC industry and an HVAC technician degree, Christy knows everything about the industry.
