The GET Program (Graduate Engineer Transformed) is now in its 10th year at Daikin Applied. This 7-month immersive learning program is one of its kind, designed for new graduate sales engineers to provide foundational HVAC knowledge and experience, build their professional network, and enhance their industry credibility. Aside from traditional in-person training, the program takes the participants to Daikin's many manufacturing facilities across North America where they get a close-up look at our products being manufactured, and form partnerships with key engineers and leaders in the field.
This year’s class began the program in January with a completely virtual learning experience that included a combination of self-paced online work and live, instructor-led sessions. Now that our facilities are opened to visitors again, and we have somewhat returned to work, the GET Program recently moved forward with its in-person learning sessions. The first trips took them to our showroom at Solutions Plaza in Jersey City, New Jersey and then to our three factories in Faribault and Owatonna, Minnesota. Next, the program traveled to our factory in Verona, Virginia and will soon visit Daikin Texas Technology Park in Houston, Texas and the Modular Central Plant in Phoenix, Arizona before graduation this November.
Aside from visiting our facilities, the participants also spend significant time with our engineers and product managers, as well as senior leaders at Daikin. “Factory visits are definitely the highlight of the program,” one participant commented. “Being able to see the equipment up close and to meet the application engineers was invaluable. I appreciated being able to connect faces and names and meet a lot of the people I interact with regularly. Making these personal connections will be very beneficial as I move forward in my career.”
The next class of fresh graduates will begin in November of 2021 and will run through June of 2022.
